So, if you haven’t planned your annual Easter long weekend trip down south, it may have just dawned on you that you don’t know what to do for the next 4 days. Well stress not, because we have compiled a bucket list of all the Easter events, activities, menu items and drink specials that you can fill your days with (and your belly). Now throw your diet out the window and enjoy the sweet, smooth chocolatey goodness that our glorious city has to offer.
Oh, and you haven’t had time to find the best bunnies on the supermarket shelves? Don’t bother, we recommend you head to our Swan Valley locals Margaret River Chocolate Factory and Whistlers Chocolate Company or Mundaring favourite Sticky Fingers Candy Store – we’ve done the taste testing for you and can ensure they are the best of the bunch!

- The Aviary Perth ‘Eggspresso Martini’
An espresso martini served in a chocolate egg with extra chocolate eggs on the side?! I think we’ve died and gone to heaven.
- Little Raw Deli ‘Mixed Spice Hot Cross Bun Pancakes’
Just when you thought Hot Cross Buns couldn’t get any better, the genius creators at Little Raw Deli designed this decadent vegan & gluten-free dish. That’s right – it means you can spoil yourself with no stomach aches or guilt afterwards.
- The Flour Factory ‘Hot Cross Gin Cocktail’
This cocktail is an absolute winner in our eyes… With a combo like that, how could it not be?!
- San Churro Midland ‘Easter Sundae’
We all know that our Midland team are just a little obsessed with San Churros – and rightly so when it’s staring at you from across the road all day every day.
- Small Print ‘Hot Cross Bun Protein Balls & Hand-painted Easter Treats’
An extravagant gift for a loved one (or yourself) these guys are serving up hand-crafted white chocolate eggs filled with honeycomb and black forest. However, if that sounds a little too indulgent and like a down right violation of your diet (good on you for keeping healthy over the most unhealthy holiday of the year) then they have also created absolutely adorable Hot Cross Bun Protein Balls.
- MOP ‘Crème Egg Donut’
Now we all know someone who is absolutely obsessed with Cadbury Crème Eggs… They probably even hoard them come Easter time. So this MOP special is a definite dream come true.
- The Guildford Hotel ‘DIY Crème Egg Cocktail’
Again, Cadbury Crème Egg lovers can unite as one of our favourite local pubs is adding crème egg garnish to their DIY Mocha Cocktail.
- Petition Beer Corner ‘Chocolate Stout’
Now that’s a combination we never thought we would hear. I guess we will have to go see it to believe it!
- Whisk Creamery ‘Chocolate Easter Egg’
Served on a bed of fairy floss, this milk chocolate egg is filled with coconut gelato and orange jelly – all we can say about this creation is “WOW!”
- Barchetta ‘Chocolate Jaffa Cocktail’
Because there’s orange in it, it’s healthy right?!
With a choice of not one but two pancake specials this long weekend, it is their creamy chocolate ‘Drunken Bunny’ cocktail that makes our mouth water… Ivy & Jack really is a must-see this Easter – there will even be a visit from the Easter Bunny himself on Sunday!

Give your Easter an Australian twist and take the family to Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where you can meet the Easter Bilby and much, much more.
Want to share the Easter spirit with your fur-baby? Well don’t worry because now you can thanks to Furbaby for organising Easter treat hunts for dogs this long weekend. We can almost guarantee that you will see our Labrador-loving administration-whiz Kelly there with her giant pooch Watson – watch out cos they can get pretty competitive!
There is a full afternoon planned at Mundaring Village with face-painting, balloons, colouring-in and of course a free Easter egg hunt with your very own Easter basket. This is why we love living in the Hills.
Over the long weekend, the Treasury Lounge & Bar are adding a chocolate twist to their classic afternoon tea.
There will be complimentary arts, crafts and activities for the kids, plus DJ’s on the Deck and free-flow drinks and bottomless pizza packages for adults – you can’t go wrong with that!
We all have our traditions, and for some that includes the races. Ascot Racecourse is stepping it up a notch this long weekend with various attractions however it is their offering of FREE Easter eggs that has caught our attention.
Not a fan of chocolate? Don’t worry, these Swan Valley locals have you covered with a cheese hunt instead, as well as a delicious brunch board with each ticket and a visit from The Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm.
